Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright

Baseball Prospectus puts the odds of the Brewers winning the National League Central at better than 55%, which makes me think there’s some money to be made by betting against them, since a team with no ace and a AAA bullpen is unlikely to win anything.
On the other hand, there’s a theory that you have to hit rock bottom before you can start climbing back up. The magic number, by the way, is 48.

I’m a Cincy fan but I think it would good for Baseball for the Brew Crew to win. not to mention the Race between the and the Cubbies

Even if the Brewers don’t win the Central this year, they’ve still got a lot to be proud of. They’ve had a heck of a season, and I’d like to think this is just the start of something good for the Brewers and Milwaukee.

Yeah, it’s a bit silly how quickly everyone started assuming they were the 1927 Yankees when they built that 8-game lead over Chicago. The Brewers aren’t a championship-level club. They’re a very young, above-average team. They’ll be better next year, and better the year after that.
But after such a good start…
To be good enough that it matters when you fail is better than mediocrity, but far more frustrating. Just ask the fans in Boston.

Yeah, I think Brewers fans have gotten so used to terrible teams that when we finally had a winner we thought it was the end all, be all. I like the makeup of our team looking ahead to the future, and I’m not terribly worried about this season, though I have to admit it’d be nice for our young players to get playoff experience while expectations are still low.
