Elitism
April 21, 2008
One candidate is the a son of a famous father. He divorced his first wife in order to marry a wealthy beer heiress, and then used his second wife’s money to go into politics. He’s running on a platform that offers huge tax cuts for wealthy heiresses, and “adversity builds character” for everyone else.
According to ABC News, I’m supposed to think the other guy is an elitist.

Wait - I thought Heinz-Kerry was a ketchup heiress.
C’mon, you’re kidding. You made me dig into McCain only to find that he comes from a line of prominent Navy men. Nothing Pattonesque, and certainly not linked to privilege and power like Hillary or Dubya.
Can’t believe you’re bringing up the divorce. Isn’t that supposed to be my line? Whereas Dems are forced by Clinton to take the “private life” high road on personal matters. Have to say I give McCain bonus points on the hotty sugar momma he scored.
We both know you’re making a leap about the tax cuts for hyperbole. So far we’ve got a gas-tax holiday proposed, which must benefit wealthy truckers, Big Oil and Israel.
Your other guy doesn’t get the bitter little people - who gave Pennsylvania to Hillary - and when the hip college crowd woots him for flipping the bird, he’s not clever, he’s clueless. He’s an idealist, but his speaking shows he’s out of touch on a very important human level.
I’m not sure I’d diss a guy who spent several years in solitary in an enemy prison camp, interspersed with beatings, mind games and starvation, for his country, then became interested in politics as part of the Navy liason to the Senate.
Since when do you listen to ABC News? Oh - you’re being facetious!

As for that guy in the prison camp. I went through several types of pow training (S.E.R.E. school was an unclassified one). One of the classified schools was the first place I’d heard of McCain. It was run by former POW’s, as were much of that type of training through the early to mid 90’s. They detested McCain for writing of classified communication methods, which put a generation at risk. Luckily by the time we started this bogus war we had time to rectify that situation.
He was a hero THEN for surviving. His actions since then have been pretty dicey, in addition to knowingly violating security to his proven tendency for flip-flopping and flipping off define the man he is NOW.

Well Ben I would say the guys who says you shouldn’t go into the Corporate world but his wife does that same thing is the elitest the guy who says do as I say but don’t do as me or my family does is the eliteist.
